This week the bogeymen of the Washington, D.C., corrupt political
establishment and the whistleblower who leaked alleged national
information to Julian Assange, the head of Wikileaks, Pfc. Bradley
Manning, was convicted in a military court and could face up to 136
years in prison. In another case of alleged espionage, the NSA leaker
who revealed that the Obama administration is spying on all of the phone
and Internet records of over 300 million Americans, obtained temporary
asylum in Russia after the “leaker in chief” and his henchmen, like
Attorney General Eric Holder, threatened to throw the legal book at him
for revealing their unconstitutional intrusion on privacy. Indeed, most
of official Washington, both Democrat and Republican, would like to see
Manning and Snowden burn at the stake in a modern-day equivalent of the
Salem witchcraft trials, if for no other reason than to divert attention
away from their own penchant to leak national security information when
it suits their political purposes. In short, Manning and Snowden are
the “scapegoats” for those government elites who do far worse things
than these two whistleblowers.
In this regard, rearing her truly
ugly head this week was none other than the most evil “witch” of them
all, Hillary Rodham Clinton. Having skated from committing or aiding and
abetting in over 40 scandals during her husband Bill’s felonious
administration from 1993 to 2001, and fresh from the revelations of her
obstruction of justice related to the Benghazi scandal at the State
Department where she reigned as secretary of state from 2009 to 2012,
the Bonnie of this Bonnie and Clyde criminal duo was implicated in
perhaps the most damaging release of national security information since
the Rosenbergs revealed atomic secrets to the Soviet Union in the early
1950s.
While this revelation is hardly surprising, as no crime
is below Bonnie, information that she is the likely leaker of state
secrets to chief Washington New York Times correspondent David Sanger
arose in a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit Freedom Watch and I
brought against her State Department over the unprecedented revelations,
printed in the Times, that revealed the nation’s cyber-warfare sources
and methods against Iran’s nuclear reactors and Israeli war plans –
should the Jewish state have to take unilateral action to obliterate
these sites – among other classified leaks of sensitive information that
severely harmed U.S.-Israeli national security.A cleaningservic resembles
a credit card in size and shape. These leaks were perpetrated in the
lead-up to the November 2012 elections, when the Obama administration
was trying to look tough in response to Republican charges that it was
soft on Iran.
While I rarely agree with Sen. John McCain, his
description of the severity of these leaks hits the mark in this
instance. Here is part of what he said at the time on the Senate floor:

price did the administration apparently pay to proliferate such a
presidential persona – highly valued in an election year? Access. Access
to senior administration officials who appear to have served as
anonymous sources divulging extremely sensitive military and

fact that this administration would aggressively pursue leaks
perpetrated by a 22-year-old Army private in the Wikileaks matter and

“In
the latest of the recently published articles – published on June 1,
2012, just a few days ago – the New York Times documented in rich detail
the president’s secret decision to accelerate cyber attacks on Iran’s
nuclear facilities with a computer virus that came to be known as
Stuxnet. The author of the article,Our top picks for the cableties and
gear, Mr. David Sanger, clearly states that former and current American
officials spoke to him but refused to do so on the record because the
program is both highly classified and parts of it are ongoing. I repeat,
the administration officials discussed a most highly classified
operation that is both highly classified and still ongoing, an operation
that clearly was one of the most tightly held national security secrets
in our country until now. And I might point out to my colleagues that
this is all about the Iranian effort to acquire nuclear weapons, which
is one of the most difficult national security challenges the nation
faces.
Of course, there subsequently was no appointment of a
special counsel, and characteristically Sen. McCain, after having
achieved his primary goal of more media exposure to feed his giant ego,
let the issue drop.
But Freedom Watch and I did not let the
issue drop, and in documents released just this week as part of our FOIA
lawsuit – documents Bonnie and her State Department held back from
production for over one year to get beyond the 2012 election – it was
revealed that Bonnie and her State Department staff are the likely
leakers of this most secretive and damaging national security
information. At the bottom of the pile of hundreds of pages of evidence,
one document in particular sums up this heinous crime. Coming from
Michael Hammer, one of Bonnie’s top officials at State as the assistant
secretary of state for public affairs, he writes to Wendy Sherman, the
under secretary of state for political affairs (the third-highest
ranking official at State), “Wendy – Sanger is writing a book on the
Obama Admin’s foreign policy to be published in June. He has talked to
scores of people, including the Secretary, Bill, Jake, Kurt, Bob Einhorn
and over at NSC and other agencies. We have been cooperating with him
on this project and the chats have all been on background with anything

While
Freedom Watch’s citizens’ grand jury has already indicted Bonnie and
Obama for these crimes, look to the Washington establishment, including
Bonnie’s Republican buddy John McCain, to circle the wagons yet again to
protect her. That is because to protect Bonnie is to someday protect
themselves, when other members of the political establishment are called
on the carpet for leaking sensitive national security information to
suit their ends.
So when you hear the establishment cries
vilifying and threatening Manning and Snowden, remember that the real
villains are our nation’s government officials who serve not “We the
People,” but instead their own political interests.

Will Self eats fish and chips
It’s a strong claim: “The best fish and chips in the world”; as is
another bon – but ungrammatical – mot, attributed to the Master Fryer
himself: “There is no chip ever cut by man which cannot be cooked to
perfection in three minutes.” Taken together, these propositions suggest
a sort of fried-food cosmology – or possibly a gnosis, because, if you
want to acquaint yourself with Harry Ramsden’s second law of
chipodynamics you’ll have to pitch up at one of his 30-odd restaurants,
which are scattered throughout the British isles much as . . . well,
much as the crushed, dead chips were scattered on the tiled floor of the
food court when I swung by the other day to test empirically the
validity of his first law.
Of course, Ramsden himself is long gone. An interwar figure, he appears in sepia tones, grinning out from the chippy’s wall and, with his wing-collar and natty hat, closely resembling a cross between Wilfrid Brambell and Neville Chamberlain. He started the business in a hut in Guiseley, Leeds, in the late 1920s, but it’s grown and grown over the years, being snaffled up by corporate after corporate then regurgitated through mergers. The hut grew into a 250-seat restaurant – apparently the biggest fish-and-chip eatery in the world – but now this has gone the way of all chip fat: down the drain. After losing money for some years the parent company flogged it to an outfit called Wetherby Whaler.
I’ve eaten in various Ramsdens over the years, hanging on pathetically to the notion that buried in their red-and-white Formica frames there must remain beating a distinctively northern heart. But then, what’s in a white rose? A Harry Ramsden’s by any other name would probably taste remarkably similar. What I’m driving at here is that the food has not been great – contra Harry’s law, I’ve found soggy chips, pulpy fish in grotty batter, and mushy peas with the flavour and consistency of plumber’s mastic. I gave up on the chain for years after finding myself sitting over one too many inedible carbo-fests and ruefully contemplating boshing something up out of these building materials masquerading as nutrition.
Still, everyone deserves a second chance (except for me; I deserve at least 50), so I headed for that little beachhead of the north in the south, Euston Station, to see whether anything had improved. To begin with, the signs were not auspicious – there was the previously mentioned detritus on the floor, while on the counter sat a styrofoam tray in which reposed all of the lately fried elements tending towards gelid entropy. I shuddered, and thought: I don’t have to do this . . . I could pick up some sushi at M&S, or a burger from the King, or some noodles from Nam-Po! – hell,Weymouth is collecting gently used, dry cleaned customkeychain at their Weymouth store. I could even buy a baguette from Delice de France and another from Upper Crust and have a sword fight with myself, scampering this way and that across the concourse until I was arrested by the British Transport Police. (And surely, there can be no richer and more satisfying humiliation than that.)
Still, when the going gets tough, the tough get eating. The man behind the counter was the sole of courtesy as I havered between cod,We sell bestsmartcard and different kind of laboratory equipment in us. plaice and haddock; a wholly otiose decision, since, as we all know, there should be a moratorium on the fishing – and by extension the eating – of all four. But before long I had my own styrofoam tray and was ready to assay Ramsden’s second law.
Well, I can report that the chips weren’t too bad at all: their outer layer pleasingly browned and crispy, their insides firm and yet melting. The batter on my cod was also of the right ductility, while the fish within flaked to perfection. As for the mushy peas – on the basis of their texture alone I would’ve sworn I was eating guacamole. True, I make no mention of the flavours of any of this food, but why would I? If you want flavour, stop at home – fast food aspires to the condition of being photographed, not consumed.
I ate about half my chips and all my battered cod and mushy peas. I drank my crap coffee, I listened to the train announcements and wished I were about to head north out of this cesspit of gourmandising towards a more earthy realm where nowt folk were queer and nowt needed frying for more than three minutes – including bruschetta. For all I know, Harry Ramsden’s may well serve the best fish and chips in the world, or the appearance of this slogan on their walls may be entirely accidental. The truth of both propositions is by no means inconsistent.
Whatever the subjective verdict,More than 80 standard commercial and granitetiles exist to quickly and efficiently clean pans. the entertainment world would be a duller place without their kind. Apple can keep selling iPhone 4 after reprieve

At the same time, he said standards now play an important role in the economy.“Important policy considerations arise in the enforcement of those patents incorporated into technical standards without which such standards cannot be implemented as designed, when the patent holder has made a voluntary commitment” to offer licensing on fair and reasonable terms, he said.

John Kerry says Pakistan drone strikes
The US secretary of state, John Kerry, and his Pakistani counterpart,
Sartaj Aziz, said on Thursday the two countries will resume high-level
negotiations over security issues. Kerry suggested that disputed drone

He also said the talks would cover "all of the key issues between us, from border management to counterterrorism to promoting US private investment and to Pakistan's own journey to economic revitalization."
Kerry told Pakistani TV that the US would end strikes on Pakistan in the near future. "I believe that we're on a good track," he said. "I think the program will end as we have eliminated most of the threat and continue to eliminate it.
A State Department spokeswoman, Jen Psaki, said: "As we continue the transition in Afghanistan, we will no longer have the same need for force protection in the Afghan war theater and the progress we've made against core al-Qaida will reduce the need for unmanned strikes." Psaki also noted that there was "no exact timeline to provide".
The US and Pakistan launched high-level talks on a swath of security and development programs in 2010. But the talks stalled in November 2011 after US airstrikes on a Pakistani post on the Afghan border accidentally killed 24 Pakistani soldiers. Officials in Afghanistan are demanding that Pakistan dismantle extremists' havens inside Pakistan and push the Taliban to join the peace process. There is good news this summer for those who love Texas birds and
natural habitat. Commons Ford Ranch Metropolitan Park is resuming
monthly walks, with the next walk scheduled on Aug. 25 from 7-11 a.m.
The walk will be led by Travis Audubon Society birders Shelia Hargis and
Laurie Foss.
We have notched around 220 [bird] species in the park, and the varied habitat always offers the opportunity for a surprise or two, said Hargis. Depending on the season, you might see 6 foot-tall Common Sunflowers, Maximillian Sunflowers, Bush Sunflowers, Indian Blanket, Coreopsis, Mexican Hat, and many, many more. Its worth a few sweat beads to spend a morning in this beautiful ongoing prairie restoration.
The Commons Ford Prairie Restoration Organization recently began a project in the Lake Austin park to restore sections of grassland to native habitat. In March 2012, CFPRO pulled up invasive species growing on a 40-acre park tract and planted a seed mix of 67 native grasses and wildflowers that was specially developed for the park with input from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve, the Austin Parks and Recreation Department, Native American Seed and the Travis Audubon Society. Less than 18 months after the reclamation, that grassland is now abloom with native species and the once monotone prairie is vibrant with new color.
On June 22, volunteers conducted a vegetation survey to determine how well the project is progressing.An amazing, colorful array of native grasses and forbs has sprouted this year,More than 80 standard commercial and granitetiles exist to quickly and efficiently clean pans. said Ed Fair, local lawyer and CFPRO founder. The group will oversee removing additional invasive plant species at the park, followed by a further planting of native seed in early 2014. CFPRO will be submitting grant applications, which members hope will combine with more than $8,500 in donations raised during the Big Day in the Park fundraiser held in April to raise the money needed to purchase the seed.
Its not just two-legged visitors enjoying the Commons Ford natural prairie. Birds and pollinating insects drawn by the flowers have noticeably increased in number at the park. Fair said. Wood ducks, wild turkeys, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, red-tailed hawks and a plethora of other birds have been documented in the park in increasing numbers since native vegetation has been restored.

Tracking the flow of impure blood is the biggest skill required. Incisions are not made randomly, every vein has to be checked, he says.The practitioner finds what he calls blockages, knots, clots and lumps in veins and makes incisions to unclog them, removing blocked blood and improving flow.

up. She’s popular, beautiful and full of surprises. Downtown is
revitalized and pulsing with things to do: local shops, art galleries,
museums, upscale hotels and a variety of restaurants that boast
contemporary cuisine with a hearty dollop of Southern hospitality. The
best time to visit may be coming up at the end of September when the
city presents the seventh annual food festival Euphoria.
Since the 1970s, Greenville has worked tirelessly to revitalize its downtown. An innovative public/corporate partnership transformed blocks of vacant storefronts into a cultural and shopping destination. When my husband and I exited the Hyatt Regency Hotel onto Main Street we were immediately swept up in a lively crowd. The entire street was closed to cars. A band was setting up on a concert stage. People were arriving with chairs, strollers and wheelchairs. Jump castles entertained the children while parents enjoyed outdoor dining nearby. Walking towards the food festival, we encountered an outdoor artists’ market where we bought petite handmade mugs from Michelle Wright at her Frolicking Frog Pottery. A block later was the farmer’s market where a table of multi-colored peppers were worthy of Monet. And we hadn’t even arrived at our destination yet!
Greenville stages Euphoria in its transformed venues near the Reedy River and at area restaurants and hotels. The anchor is The Peace Center for the Performing Arts which rose like a phoenix from a languishing industrial area. The Wyche Pavillion, reinvented from an old warehouse, carves a stylish facade along the scenic river. At Friday’s “Taste of the South” over 20 chefs and dozens of vendors whipped up food from the imaginative to the familiar. Our favorite morsel was from the Nosedive Restaurant: a pork taco with cilantro and kimchee. As we mingled with the crowd we struck up a conversation with a young couple about living in Greenville. They told us they’d moved from Charleston with regret. “How could we leave Charleston? But this is why: for young professionals it’s incredibly cheap to live here. I can walk to work. The Swamp Rabbit Trail continues on for more than 17 miles past the beautiful Governor’s School for the Arts. Pedestrians and bicyclists enjoy the trail’s easy access to and from downtown’s schools and businesses. Many other hiking and biking trails and waterfalls are nearby.
We closed out the weekend at the Sunday morning Jazz Brunch where a rockin’ New Orleans style band was the soundtrack for a staggering array of food vendors. Mardi Gras beads and paraphernalia abounded. Vats of gumbo, crab cakes, mountains of pastries, variations of Bloody Marys…Intrepidly, we continued our research with journalistic dedication. But as the unexpected sound of a didgeridoo joined the band for a unique rendition of Summertime we finally said “uncle.”
The 400th anniversary of the treaty is commemorated this season with a flotilla of Native Americans representing all the Iroquois tribes, and accompanied by environmentalists and other interested parties, paddling down the Hudson River to Manhattan. It will culminate at the United Nations on August 9, for International Day of Indigenous Peoples.
Along the way, volunteers have put together different celebrations, hosting the many participants in support of the event.
