Simank says credit card companies charge his business up to 75 cents
every time a card is swiped. Debit cards have become the most-used form
of payment, which means it's also the most expensive form of payment for
many business owners.
That's why dozens of businesses in the
Brazos Valley have started passing along the cost of debit card
transactions to the customers who use them. The establishments that have
adopted the new program have a small black sign posted near the front
door or the register that explains the fee.

service charges are a result of a class-action settlement between credit
card companies, like Visa and MasterCard, and merchants across the
country. The agreement went into effect at the end of January 2013, and
it says that businesses are allowed to add a surcharge on credit card

with the power and volume buttons on the back of the panel - an unusual

The tablet snaps
into the keyboard dock with a satisfying and secure click. The keyboard
is unusually good for one of these docks, clearly borrowing from HP's
laptop expertise. While it's a 92 percent-sized "netbook" keyboard,Best

discount prices. the keys have 1.5mm travel, which gives them a
top-notch tactile experience. The keyboard also has dedicated home, menu
and multitasking buttons as well as some great hardware gestures - a
two-fingered swipe can flip between Android home screens, which is
really useful.
The keyboard has a secondary battery, full-sized
HDMI port, USB port, and SD card slot. You can put two 64GB SD cards
into the x2, which comes in 16, 32, and 64GB models. That means you can
pack 192GB of storage into this baby. The tablet and keyboard together
weigh 2.98 lbs.
HP's default software build cleaves very close
to stock Android, although HP throws in some mostly unremarkable
pre-loaded apps into the mix. There's a printing app, a custom media
player, and a file manager.
Otherwise, specs were really hard to
come by at this demo. I didn't have Internet access, and there was
nothing on the tablet that could remotely stress the 1.8-GHz Tegra 4
processor, which has four ARM Cortex-A15 cores and a 72-core GPU. The
only thing HP would say about the battery life was that it's "all-day."
Nobody
else has yet announced a tablet with this generation of ARM-based
processor, which includes the Tegra 4, Samsung Exynos 5 Octa (which has
appeared in Galaxy S 4 phones outside the U.S.), Qualcomm's upcoming
Snapdragon 800 and rumored chips from LG, Huawei, and others.
Showing
that the gadget was a prototype, neither the touch screen nor the
trackpad seemed finished.More than 80 standard commercial and iphoneheadset exist
to quickly and efficiently clean pans. The touch screen had calibration
issues and a strange, matte-looking layer that rendered it dimmer than
it should be. The trackpad didn't differentiate its navigation area from
its button area, to the extent that when you tried to click a button,
the pointer would also wobble.
It's hard to assess a product
when it's this early, but HP's big challenge with this tablet is the
same that all Android convertible tablets have. It's even starker,
though, when it's on a table next to the HP Envy x2, a very similar if
slightly larger product running a full version of Windows 8. At $479.99
in the U.S., it's $170 less than the Envy x2 and on par with other
high-end Android tablets. Maybe HP will be smarter to compare this to
tablets like Samsung's Galaxy Note 2 than to full-fledged Windows
laptops running apps like Microsoft Office.

Lansdale man among trio nabbed in alleged interstate marijuana scheme
A Lansdale man and two other men face felony drug charges after
allegedly attempting to pick up a large shipment of marijuana hidden
inside a pallet of boxes that was sent from California to the KNEX toy
manufacturing facility in Hatfield last month.
Nghia Binh Thach, 37, of the 600 block of Whitaker Place, along with Hieu Thach, 26, and Hai Danh, 33 both of Camden, N.J. have been arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance and related offenses.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on April 12 police were notified by KNEX staff that they had received a delivery of 10 boxes on a pallet, wrapped in plastic, that had been shipped from California to the factory at 2990 Bergey Road, and that paperwork associated with the shipment indicated that KNEX was the intended receiver.
Police said the boxes contained cases of martini shakers, and further inspection revealed a total of 47 pounds of marijuana packaged in one-pound bags inside six of the boxes, with an estimated street value of $164,500 to $282,000.
Around 7:30 a.m. on April 16, the affidavit states, Hatfield detectives received a call from KNEX advising them that a male was on location at the factory requesting to pick up the pallet. Police responded to the scene and took the man, Nghia Thach, into custody and, according to the affidavit, found a U-Haul Self Storage security access card in his possession.

All these effects require some serious horsepower, which is why Pure has used an Intel Sodaville processor and PowerVR graphics. This would be overkill for a more restrained interface, but it proves its worth when you activate the numerous channel transitions that slip, wipe, dissolve and ripple the screen as you change to a different program. We found this rather gimmicky, and wed rather just change as quickly as possible without having to sit through fancy effects.How cheaply can I build a carpark? Thankfully, theres an option to turn the transitions off should you prefer not to see them.
Freeview+ HD might be lacking channels compared to subscription TV services such as Sky or Virgin, but its steadily increasing its collection of high definition content, with BBC One HD, BBC Two HD, ITV 1 HD and Channel 4 HD all available. Unfortunately, the Avalon 300R doesnt have a CI card slot, so you wont be able to use it for your subscription TV services.

Evolutionary theory gone wrong

of the world that we observe. Theories are based on facts but are not
themselves facts. As they are the basic stuff of science, calling

It is about animals, plants and fungi adapting to their niche environments over time. What this theory is not is a moral judgment.
Evolutionary theory misused as a misplaced morality all started with the coining of the phrase "survival of the fittest" by Victorian economist and philosopher Herbert Spencer. Spencer thought that man would continually improve over time to eventually create the perfect man in the perfect society. This is a rather benevolent worldview, but next came so-called social Darwinism, coined by Darwin's own cousin, which set forth that certain races were superior to others. Francis Galton firmly believed that society would go to the dogs if we kept allowing "inferior" people to breed.
The Darwin awards are clearly meant to be funny C but in reality this has nothing to do with genetic inheritance because there is not a gene for "doing stupid things". Not to mention that "smart" people do stupid things all the time. This has led to all sorts of horrid catastrophies, from the Holocaust to the US using compulsory sterilisation into the 1970s.
These false ideas of evolution usually have no scientific basis C they are rather like some kind of crazy genetic get-out-of-jail-free card. Take the "man is hunter, woman is gatherer/homemaker" trope and the idea that this somehow has to do with genes we have inherited, rather than some kind of social evolution (sans the genes). Social evolution isn't the same as genetic evolution.
