Chairman Nadra Tariq Malik on Wednesday issued directives for making special arrangements to expedite the issuance of Smart Cards as well as CNIC modification and taking up lost cases regardless of whether the application forms were submitted under normal or urgent category.

Nadra is not confiscating the expired CNICs of the applicants at the time of renewal, modification or new cards processing. In case, their new card doesnt arrive before election day, they can cast their vote with their existing ID cards, he remarked.
According to him, Nadra has also developed short messaging service software for ECP by performing the tedious job of mapping 86.1 million voters with the polling stations assigned by ECP.
