In a poll released Tuesday by liberal polling firm Public Policy Polling, Democratic candidate Michelle Nunn, the daughter of former Sen. Sam Nunn, beats or ties the multiple Republican candidates facing off in a crowded primary.

Republican Rep. Phil Gingrey and businessman David Perdue are the strongest candidates against Nunn in this early poll. Gingrey ties Nunn 41 percent to 41 percent, and Perdue ties her 40 percent to 40 percent. Rep. Jack Kingston and former Georgia secretary of state both narrowly trail 38 percent to 40 percent. Nunn, the former CEO of Points of Light, is also the only candidate with a net favorable rating from voters — all the Republicans candidates have a net negative favorability rating. They do feel strongly favorable toward Nunn’s father, with 56 percent saying they hold a favorable opinion of the former Senator and 12 percent holding an unfavorable opinion.

Elliot and one of his employees worked on perfecting the design, and have built about 1,000 yards of the fenders so far. “The marina probably still has another six months until it’s finished, so I anticipate continued demand,” he says. “And the ability to get my company’s name on the fenders around the marina helps get the message out about the package I’m delivering to customers. They can say to their friends: ‘He doesn’t only do canvas work. He’ll do the bumpers for your boats as well."

To increase profit, Elliot and his crew build their own bolts for the fender systems. “The jetty specialists wanted me to buy their bolts at $3 each—and I can make my own at $1 each,” he says. “When you’re talking 1,000 yards of fenders, there are probably 3,000 bolts. That’s an extra $6,000 in my pocket."
